Employment is a critical aspect of the
Transition Center Program. Residents must seek and maintain
full-time employment as prescribed by center rules.
Employers in this community have historically worked very well
with our residents. Over the years, employers have found that
Center residents are motivated and valuable employees. Most
job opportunities are limited only to the expectations and
experience of the resident.
The Transition Center has a full time Job
Developer/Counselor to assist residents in finding full-time
work. This assistance includes learning how to complete job
application forms properly, interviewing techniques, job seeking
skills, proper attire/personal presentation and follow-up. The
Job Developer will review the resident's employment history and
help him/her to appropriately target their job search. All
residents on job search are expected to maintain a high level of
personal appearance and motivation.
The Center considers our residents'
employers as a integral part of the program and encourages feedback
as a means to evaluate the performance of the resident. The
Center is committed to employers and will assist them in addressing
problem areas which may develop with the resident.
